DatingKey® didn’t begin with a business plan — it began with a question: Where do people go these days for real connection? I kept hearing the same thing: “Dating feels off.” “Everything’s a game.” “I just want a place to actually talk to someone.”
Whether it’s mindless swiping or crowded bar, something is missing: INTENTION.
Growing up in a small beach town in South America, community and romance were simply a way of life. Bonfires turned strangers into family. Neighbors knew your name. Connection happened naturally in plazas, kitchens, and dance halls... love showed up in the little moments: a shared laugh, a lingering glance, a memory made together without trying. That feeling — that belonging — was what I missed most.
Soon, I realized: What if we could use technology not to replace real life, but to enhance it? What if we could use tech to bring back that old-school feeling of community where the magic of eye contact, body language, and joy was present? What if we could engineer serendipity?
